Job reference: EJR008554
Application closing date: 10/05/2018

Ealing Council is committed to an exciting innovative approach to transform the life experiences of adults so that those who are able can, through early intervention, be supported and enabled to live as independently as possible, drawing on an individual's own resilience and strengths, their networks of support and the community around them.

The "Better Lives" approach will introduce a wide cultural change looking at the social care offer, expectations of it, the way the Council works with partners, residents and providers and the very principles of social work practice.

The new approach will focus on improving outcomes for adults and equipping social workers to work in a strength-based way, centred around a "conversation" which identifies an individual's strengths as the starting point, in order to seek the least restrictive options first.

We want to keep in touch more regularly with service users, making sure people are getting the right support at the right time to remain as active and independent as possible as their lives change.

In order to make a success of this initiative, the Council requires staff in their Older Adults and Adults Disabilities services to embrace a shift in expectations, skills' sets and practice, and a more creative way of supporting those who need it.

Do you want to help Ealing Council meet this challenge and become a Senior Social Worker?

These roles are deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

Ealing council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Ealing follows safer recruitment practices to protect children and vulnerable adults. The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

These posts are subject to Ealing's enhanced vetting process.
